This is why you only need to stick up a nice picture of yourself and - assuming you aren't the picky type - just wait for the messages to come in and for your chance to reply. Lavalife started began as a phone dating service way back in the 1980's. A Toronto-based company, it has grown to become the standard for online dating in the great white north. The number one dating site in Canada still has a presense elsewhere, including the USA where it is in the top ten in terms of size. This equates to many members - over 1.3 million to be more precise. Lavalife has done well to attract those beautiful people, too, who seem to be plentiful with many online regularly. A great, easy-to-use interface is probably the main reason for this. On top of that the support staff is quick to help and make any manual updates (your pictures and profile must be approved before they appear on the website). Lavalife is great for those who are relatively new to dating. There is a bit of mystery allowed - you can hide your profile so that only those who you have made contact with can see you, and when you view or save a profile the owner is not notified. The fact that you pay for what you use means you aren't under any pressure to "get your money's worth", and can go at your own pace. There may be two downfalls to Lavalife. For one, you only get one photo in your profile. If you want to show more of yourself, or see more of someone else, one of you needs to use your credits and make contact. Secondly, "Lavalifing" is fun and can be addictive, but there is a learning curve to figuring out how to fit in here. People who use it usually come back, and are sometimes only interested in others like themselves who have been through similar experiences. So, it can take a bit of time to get what you really want. It is definitely worth it, though.
